Oreo’s story started on the side of the road.

She had been dumped and left behind, until a single mother and her children found her and brought her home. What could have been the end of Oreo’s story became the beginning of something beautiful. She quickly became a bright light in their family and brought so much joy to the children who fell in love with her.
But when Oreo was taken to the veterinarian to be spayed, they discovered something far more serious.

Oreo has pyometra — a life-threatening infection of the uterus that requires urgent surgery. Without it, she could die.
​
Her mom tried everything she could. She applied for CareCredit and was denied. She started a GoFundMe, but unfortunately received no donations. As a single mother, the cost of Oreo’s emergency surgery was simply more than she could manage on her own.
​
That’s where Ember Reign Foundation stepped in.

We aren’t waiting to see whether enough money comes in before helping her. Her life cannot wait. We are getting her campaign started while the veterinary team works to save her.

Her mom wrote something in her application that stuck with us:
“I believe it was destiny for me to find her because we needed her as much as she needs us.”

Maybe she’s right.
​
Someone may have decided Oreo wasn’t worth stopping for when they left her on the side of the road.
